Last week I went to the Dodge
Poetry Festival with my wife.
3000 miles may be a long way to travel to hear poetry but I'm glad we went. Usually,
in a crowd or at a party Patti will be the only one in a room who can claim
to be a poet. At this festival, sitting in a crowd of 2000 to hear some of our
great American poets read I was probably one of just a handful of non-poets there.
But being around that density of talent can't fail to fire up your creative juices.
Today's picture was taken at a presentation the poet Phillip
Levine gave - I just love the drive of his poem They
Feed They Lion.
Patti also wrote about our trip to Dodge
on the new blog I set up for her. |
