Concrete Cut

I know it's about 6 weeks until its official start but it feels like spring here in the Bay Area. It's not just the weather; a week ago the eminent threat of being laid-off passed me by. Some colleagues weren't so lucky, in fact it was pretty brutal but I think we were all just happy to get passed the uncertainty. Since the New Year we knew cuts were coming, we just had no idea who would be hit. It didn't make for a very productive working atmosphere; the kind of unproductivity I brought home and carried into my photography too. I've been finding a million reasons not to take pictures; stress, the weather, not having a DSLR, Ad Infinitum. Today I was out of excuses. I grabbed the only camera to hand (my old, faithful Olympus 2000z which is always in my work bag) and walked out of the office 5 minutes to a nearby lagoon and I shot whatever took my fancy; a lunchtime photo safari. For a moment I felt like a photographer again.
