If you consider yourself any kind of photographer you've no doubt had the
experience of setting time aside to go out shooting only to be uninspired
and unable to get a good shoot once you're out there with a camera in your
hand. We've all been there. Then there are those occasional, blessed days
when time with your camera coincides with inspiration and the perfect subject
and light. Those occasions don't happen often enough but when the planets
do align and lightening strikes, those are the days we live for.
Recently I found myself shooting, inspired and sure that the images I was
capturing would change photography for ever. Then I got them back into my computer...
What was I thinking? Was someone playing a cruel joke on me by swapping the
rubbish I was viewing with the perfect images I was sure I had been taking?
When this happens it's even more depressing than when you just don't shoot
anything at all. At least you can be thankful that your eye is educated enough
to separate the wheat from the chaff; it's just unfortunate that you're left
with nothing but chaff. Oh well... |
