I am not one of those website owners who changes the layout and design of
their site every few months. In real life I'm a software engineer of sorts.
Like other engineers we mainly subscribe to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix
it" philosophy.
That said, parts of my site haven't been designed or implemented optimally
so I'm actually going though my Moveble Type templates and tweaking bits and
pieces. One of the areas I have tweaked is my comment templates. The comments
link used to spawn the typical little comments window. I've come to realize
how objectionable that is so I've made the comments actions take place in the
context of the current window. This also fixes the problem of my commenter's
links opening in restrictive tiny comments window.
As a post on my site gets, on average, a single comment or less, it won't
affect many of you but I am doing what I can to make any visit to my photoblog
as simple as possible. If you are aware of any other bugs I could address,
or enhancements I could make, let me know. As for my design; I've tried to
keep it simple to put my photography front and center but if there's anything
that annoys you about my site, please let me know. |
