For Shure

My wife and I are embarking on year 4 of Project 365; I would take a break but I am deathly afraid that if I stop I'll never take another picture again. So, we plough on but to try and infuse so enthusiasm into the project we're setting ourselves weekly challenges. To ease in to the first week we set ourselves an easy one, 'Around the House'.

This Shure microphone sits in my office and is such an iconic piece of kit that some just call it the Elvis microphone. Shure still makes it and it sounds good (like any other Shure vocal mic) plus it has the advantage of a built in shock mount. As microphones go it isn't even very expensive and it's pretty enough to leave out even when you're not using it.

Going back to work after the holidays can be tough so I give myself some slack in the photography department. I lit my microphone with a diffused desk lamp, a card backdrop, my camera on a tripod with a macro lens and the focusing and exposure on manual. Even though it was a lazy shop I was please with how it turned out.
