We recently got to play at being up-market magazine photographers for the day shooting The Spa and Ame restaurant ( www.amerestaurant.com/home.html ) at the St Regis in San Francisco. Everyone there was so great and supportive. The part of the gig I was most nervous about was shooting the food - it's a very specialized photographic niche I haven't done much of before. Hiro was a perfectionist when it came to how his food looked and was presented but then trusted me to do my own thing and I can't thank him enough for that - also for feeding us once the shoot was over. I'm not much of a foodie but the Napoleon of Foie Gras and BBQ Eel with Sansho Pepper Balsamico Sauce was to die for - if I'm ever in the unfortunate position of being able to choose my last meal I'm asking for that. |
