I finally took in a roll of film I'd used in my OM2s to experiment with various lenses. Here's the results of playing with an old 500mm mirror lens I picked up for very little money. I have mixed emotions about film these days; I feel like I should use it from time to time but I'm often disappointed by the results. Film is touted by many photogs as the Nivarna of sharpness and resolution but that's not always my experience. I'm even more aware of grain and lens softness than I ever was in my pre-digital days. I guess I should get some eduction about modern films instead of just picking up what ever Fuji offers at Walgreens. Any suggestions on what to use for color when the results are to be scanned and edited in the digital darkroom?
