I'm not going to apologize for all the dog pictures lately; Eliot Erwit did
it and no one questioned his integrity. I'll just say, I'm enjoying the speed
of the Digital Rebel and I am using a subject close on hand, dogs in the local
dog parks, to learn a bit about action photography.
I will apologize if you have me
as a contact on flickr and your contact's photo stream is occasionally swamped
by my dog shots. My dog has a busier social life than I do and the owners of
all his playmates want to see the pictures I take of their pups.
I have to say that I resisted flickr for the longest time. I just didn't get
what it could do for me. I found social networking sites a huge waste of time
and I already had a photoblog so what did I need flickr for? When I needed
to share pictures online fast I finally succumbed and registered for an
account. I know some photobloggers who are also flickr users put the same content
in both places but I still put my 'photography' on this photoblog and use flickr
for my pictures. Does that make sense? Flickr is a place to play and not worry
about being taken seriously. |
