I do sometimes venture out of the 'burbs and into the urban part of our city. I've been in America 10 years now and yet certain mundane things still seem exotic and foreign to me; fire hydrants, 4-way-stops, steam escaping out of the street, fire escapes,... As such, downtown sometimes feels unreal and like a movie set. |
