To keep motivated in our fourth year of Project365 my wife and I are setting ourselves weekly challenges. Last week it was to shoot one object all week. I had wanted to shoot a little, surrendering tin-soldier who is something of a totem for me but Patti said that I'd made pictures of him too often and that I should shoot something else; she suggested an egg. I can't say I was very inspired by the idea; isn't an egg what you use when you're starting out to learn about light positions? In the end it was quite easy and I could have gone on shooting the egg much longer - it was actually quite nice not to have to worry about what to choose as a subject for the day and instead just get down to trying to make a new picture. |
